Wow, what a stunning place “The Look Out” was. This is such a fabulous location and this home had everything that you need for a wonderful holiday…..And the views! We had an amazing stay - our hosts were helpful and responsive when we had a couple of questions, but clearly did not want to interrupt or disturb their guests, which is something we really appreciated. Instructions and communications were clear and helpful, making arrival and departure seamless - It was all just…..easy. The house was comfortable with lots of room to spread out if required, was well equipped, spacious and well thought out. This is a huge place, 6 people could comfortably stay which makes it excellent value. All bedrooms are en-suite. The terrace is lovely and affords awesome views across false bay. It’s quiet, secure and peaceful as well as spotlessly clean and well equipped. We’ve had a fantastic, very relaxing time and would highly recommend this place. This was an excellent find.We are a family of 5 with young kids and everyone settled in, found their own groove, and the place quickly felt like home. The beach is a short walk away which the family used extensively. Everything is clean, well organised, and spacious. The main bedroom and kitchen open up to the outside, which brought a welcome breeze throughout the house, on what was otherwise an extremely hot week for cape town.The host was excellent, friendly, and quick to respond.On the whole, it was a lovely experience in a comfortable home, and we will definitely be returning. - 12/02/2025

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house in Simonstown. It is peacefully located, offering a beautiful and quiet atmosphere with an amazing view over the harbour. Also we enjoyed relaxing by the pool.The house is extremely well equipped. Everything you need is thoughtfully provided, especially in the kitchen, which made cooking very convenient. You can really feel how much care went into setting up the place, and we felt completely at home throughout our stay.The support from Aureol was excellent. I loved every moment of my stay on this magical farm which I was so grateful to discover very last minute. As 3 families staying together but also visiting family in Cape Town, this was an ideal stay location. It is close to local shopping and also ideal for tourists. The house itself is beautiful and set on a dressage farm. Although flies were not a problem at the time we stayed, I can imagine they would’ve in the height of summer. We loved seeing and hearing the horses, goat, chickens etc. all the staff were extremely friendly and polite. Without a personality behind it, views will only ever be views. So I’ll begin my review by giving immense credit to Aureol, a godsend! What a lovelyyy lady who truly elevated our entire experience. She was always on hand with every answer and lightning-fast suggestions, making our stay nothing short of epic.

The location itself was wonderful, and thanks to Aureol’s on-tap recommendations, we covered over 700 km exploring different spots each day, every bit worth it. The pool was the cherry on top on a hot summer’s day, it was simply divine.

A glorious stay, made unforgettable by exceptional hospitality and genuine care.

We had such a wonderful 2 week stay in Noordhoek! The home was beautiful — spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was ideal: peaceful and scenic, with easy access to the beach, a few minutes walk to cafés/restaurants, and the breathtaking Chapman’s Peak drive.One of our group members uses a wheelchair, and the property was incredibly accommodating — with spacious rooms, easy access throughout with use of the lift, and thoughtful touches that made the stay completely stress-free. I enjoyed immensely my longer-term stay at The Cottage at Cape Town. From the spectacular view of False Bay, to the quiet, private feeling of the neighborhood, to the ease of communication with Aureol and her team, I highly recommend this spot. This place is absolute perfection. You have mountains, ocean, lagoons, horses and yet still so close to shops, restaurants and the city.

The house is beautifully decorated, you walk in and it just feels like home - we were there during the winter and it was so cosy. Heaters in every room, lovely log burner. It’s perfect for cuddling up on the big sofa under the provided blankets, with a roaring fire, hot chocolate and just watch the waves.

The kitchen is amazing - everything is provided unlike a lot of airbnbs and don’t even get me started on the Braai choices. 1 massive Braai, 2 Webers (1 very cleverly built in) and a commercial sized pizza oven - you are so spoiled for choice, it makes it difficult to decide what you want to cook.

Bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces are all gorgeous and so comfortable.

After staying in many airbnbs across the country - we have finally found the perfect place we will keep coming back to.

Karibu cottage is a wonderfully warm, comfy and peaceful place to stay. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in and it is located close to everything in Simon's Town. We also loved that parking is just outside the front door and there aren't flights of steps to climb to the entrance. Aureol was a delightful host, always available and so helpful. The kitchen and bathroom are stocked with all the amenities you need and the fireplace heated up the whole house quickly, which was amazing as we were there in winter. We did feel that there should be a smart TV as we couldn't get Netflix or Showmax and DSTV is not ideal. But all in all a lovely and convenient place to stay. - 7/22/2025

This is a very unique house with the most amazing views over the ocean with the mountain as your back drop. The fire place in this house was the stand out feature for us. It was extremely effective and warmed up the entire lounge and kitchen area despite the cold weather in winter. The kitchen area overlooked the mountain and when you open up the sliding doors it feels like you are in the mountain. I had to work from there and the office has is own screen and a proper office chair and desk overlooking the mountain. The only issue is that the listing indicates that it is steep stairs to get there when in fact it is a ladder. It is not easy to get your laptop etc up the ladder. The Wu-fi up in the loft was also not very effective. You have to climb four flights of stairs to get into the main house which is not covered so not ideal when it is raining or if you have mobility issues or lots of luggage like we had. There is also a limit on electricity usage. - 7/20/2025

Booked a 3 week study accommodation, and this Airbnb ticked all the boxes. Great view, comfy furniture and a responsive host. The electric fence surrounding the edges of the balcony definitely kept the baboons at bay and weren’t a problem at all. I am delighted to report that this was one of the best AirB&B experiences I’ve ever had. Our host was extremely gracious from beginning to end, proactive and responsive to all our needs. The home was perfect for our family of four and would certainly suffice for a larger party. The pictures do not do the location and view justice as it is much more beautiful in person. The home is situated in a safe and private neighborhood conveniently located walking distance to a fantastic restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We used the home as a base to travel across Cape Town from city center, Cape Point, and the wine country in Stellenbosch. I was a bit concerned, prior to arriving about how the stay in winter would be, but this was not a problem at all. Some days were cold and wet which provided a nice context for the cozy fire and watching the ocean from the living room. We enjoyed the place so much that we extended our stay for a few extra days. We recently stayed at the Cape Town French Country Converted Silo in Constantia. We loved our stay. It was a peaceful oasis in a most lovely area. So close to everything but yet you felt miles away. The views of Table Mountain were incredible. The house was well appointed and the setup of each bedroom with its own bathroom was fantastic for our group. And to stay in a converted silo, so cool! The home surpassed our expectations. It has a stunning 180 degree view over Seaforth into False Bay. From the Balcony the activities of False Bay can be viewed with ease. The position of the home allows for it to be well lit with bright sunshine. The kitchen and living area are spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms and bathrooms are of a high standard making for a very comfortable stay.

The home is also well positioned for exploring the Simonstown coastal area, the Constantia Wine route and also the Cape Point and Peninsula. Many great restaurants and a must do for any guests is a kayak tour from Seaforth Beach to see the penguins with Terry and Team of Shark Warrior Adventures.

We cannot praise our hostess, Aureol, highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she responded to and dealt with any request immediately.
The furnishings and equipment are certainly adequate, though not luxurious. However, we didn’t lack anything and appreciated the thoughtful basics that were provided—very useful for anyone self-catering and cooking at home.
The braai could use an upgrade, but we managed fine.
We do have two requests for Elmarie & Nandi at CapeHolidays for next time:
(1) A house accommodating six people definitely needs more than one set of keys.
(2) Having a change of linen on-site is absolutely essential,please consider having a stock of more than two sets of linen per house. 😉

This house is situated in the most spectacular location. It is very close to the beach with a breathtaking view of the beach on one side and Chapman’s Peak on the other! This is the best Airbnb rental we’ve ever stayed in. The views of the bay from the two balconies are almost unreal, and it’s very peaceful being situated higher up the slope from the main road. We were a family staying there and we felt totally at home and the property is very secure - being able to keep the car in the garage is great.
There is so much to do nearby - various beaches, kayaking, lovely cafés.

Fantastic place to stay in Simon’s Town. So much space and fully equipped, even had a cool box and beach towels. Aureol was lovely and met us to show us round. The patio area had beautiful views over the bay. We walked up to Just Nuisance grave and went round the naval museum. Even mangaged to have a couple of swims in the sea! Lighthouse Cafe was excellent food for dinner.

Unser Aufenthalt war einfach fantastisch! Von der ersten Minute an haben wir uns zuhause gefühlt. Die Unterkunft war makellos sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bot eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf das Meer. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Liebe zum Detail – von den bequemen Betten über die durchdachte Ausstattung bis hin zu den kleinen Extras, die unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht haben. Die Lage ist perfekt, um Simon’s Town und die Umgebung zu erkunden, sei es der berühmte Boulders Beach mit seinen Pinguinen oder die wunderschöne Küstenstraße zum Kap der Guten Hoffnung. Es ist zwar immer etwas windig, aber bei der sommerlichen Hitze eine angenehme Abkühlung.

Aureol war herzlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar, wenn man eine Frage hat oder einen Tipp für die Umgebung braucht. Sie hat unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Wir hätten uns keinen besseren Ort für unsere Zeit in Kapstadt wünschen können und können diese Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen. - 2/10/2025 

The accommodation was very nice and exactly as described on Airbnb. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was given the relatively close proximity to other houses. The rear garden and pool area is a real sun trap and a very nice place to relax.

We spent a total of two weeks in the cottage in Simon's Town and really enjoyed our stay.

The communication with the great host Aureol was perfect and we have never seen such a welcoming and quick-responding hostess - simply exceptional!

The cottage was exactly as described in the advert, if not even better, as it is actually even bigger and has a terrace with a sea view and an airy covered outdoor area with a grill behind the house.

Everything you need for a stay was there and if something was missing, we could reach Aureol at any time.

The location is also fantastic, only about 5 minutes walk from the beach including the cute penguins. We were also very quickly in the centre of Simon's Town with restaurants & cafes.

The house is the perfect base camp to explore the Western Cape. Located in a quiet neigborhood on the flank of the hills of Glencairn, it provides a stunning view on False Bay. There are many attractions close by (10 - 30 minutes' drive) as well as shops and restaurants. The house itself is very tidy and spaceous, with modern appliances and very comfortable beds. The owners have very good taste and have included a lot of modern design features in their home. The house also has solar pannels and a battery ensuring power stays on, even when the electricity gets occasionally cut off. Sarah, our contact, was very friendly and helpful . She also punctual and responded very quickly when we had a question. All in all, a very positive experience. For those who want to discover the region of Cape Town, I highly recommend the place. This is an absolute delightful place to stay. It is a little out of the way if you want to do central Capetown, but if you want to enjoy the peninsula itself, it’s fantastic. We spent few days at the house. The house is spacious, perfect for families with kiddies. The kitchen is well equipped, we enjoyed a lot cooking ourselves. There are great restaurants in walking distance. Also the beach is very nice for surfing.
We drove also a lot to Nordhook, Hout Bay and Cape Point.

We absolutely loved our stay in this house. The house was absolutely stunning with the most breathtaking view. We especially loved that the beach was just a couple of minutes away, so we would easily go for a swim whenever we wanted. Communication with Aureol was super easy and pleasant. Well designed home with roomy bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, a covered veranda with magnificent views over False Bay and surrounding mountains. We throughly enjoyed our honeymoon stay at the French Cottage. Anna was so kind and responsive despite having a delayed flight. The cottage is so beautifully decorated and has lots of charm. The bed was very comfortable, lovely shower and the kitchen has everything you may need should you want to cook a full meal. The tap water is drinkable which is an added bonus when staying in Cape Town. The private seating areas were lovely and the shared pool was very clean with lots of nice sun loungers. Our stay at Cheerful Surfer's Haven was amazing!. Firstly, we had an issue with our previous Airbnb that we were supposed to be staying at, and after reaching out at around 8am, by 11:30am the same day we were checked in! Add in the importance around safety and security in South Africa, we are so grateful that they were able to accommodate us at such short notice. Special thanks to Sarah for the early check in.

Then the stay itself was just lovely too. The kitchen in particular was such a nice space and well equipped, and we used the outdoor BBQ almost every night. The whole space is airy, relaxing, clean and thoughtfully decorated. Plus the WiFi is rock solid, I was working for a week and had no issues. And of course, walking distance to a surfing beach is hard to beat!

As some others have noted there is a train that goes past that can be a bit noisy occasionally, but honestly don't let it put you off, we'd definitely come back. We had the best week here in the sun, thank you! - 11/29/2024

This property is pure paradise. We had the most perfect stay here. The property is absolutely stunning and the views are breathtaking (I almost cried when we walked in, I was so taken aback!).

Aureol was the perfect host, greeting us on arrival and giving us some fantastic recommendations.

The property location is the perfect distance to all the tourist spots in the area and incredibly peaceful. Everything was exactly as described and even better in real life than on the pictures.

The only comment for future bookers is that whilst there are fans and large doors, there is no air con (which is detailed in the specifications of course) so it does get very hot as there is a lot of glass, but everything about this place is so amazing that I wouldn’t let this stop you from booking.

I would 100% recommend staying here, we didn’t want to leave and would go back in a heartbeat! We stayed here with our 1 year old and he also had the time of his life. Thank you for having us. - 11/17/2024

What a spectacular place to stay! We loved our time here and would definitely be back. The hot tub and trampoline went down an absolute storm with the kids and inside braai area was ideal for windy days. Waking up to that view right from bed was heavenly! The kitchen is super well stocked with an amazing coffee machine and Sarah who hosted us was super responsive. We had a couple of challenges with water & electricity (fault of the local area not the property) but the backup power worked great and Sarah couldn't have been more responsive and helpful to deal with issues promptly. This cottage is exactly as described and is a fantastic place to stay. The views over the bay are beautiful and sitting with your morning coffee on the balcony at the start of the day is indeed food for the soul. A highly unique and special destination, situated on the Constantia green belt. The setting amongst the stables and farm animals was a delight for young and old and the two legged goat is legendary. My family and I had a wonderful experience . The space was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. Sarah our host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

The location was perfect—close to everything we wanted to explore, but still quiet enough for a relaxing stay. The amenities were top-notch, and the overall atmosphere made me feel right at home.

Fantastic place! The views are exceptional and something that you can quite write in this review as it won’t do justice.

The house is very modern and minimal with great appliances and very modern touches like the kitchen and USBC chargers next to the beds.

Absolutely lovely

We spent an incredible few nights at this perfect spot. The view is stunning, and if you are feeling adventurous there is a little road that goes a short way up the mountain (behind the houses) and has a spectacular view of all the bays! it's super peaceful, but be careful when you leave the sliding doors open as the baboons in that area are not shy and will happily come inside. If you're going in a group of 5 or 6, I would recommend drawing straws for the 2 singles room.

We had a great stay at their place. The location was perfect for our needs, and Sarah communicated well throughout our stay. The apartment had everything we needed, although the only downfall was the lack of heating in the bedrooms. We were grateful they provided hot water bottles, which helped keep us warm. The indoor fireplace was a treat.

We would love to come back in the summer and enjoy more of beautiful Noordhoek! The nearby village was a delightful treat with its beautiful restaurants and great areas for children.

Aureol provided great service and this home was especially nice with a view over the sea. The home is owned by an individual as opposed to a company. When individuals own the home all the added details are available such as fully stocked kitchen, linens, etc. Corporate rentals lack the details. Bedrooms are below the first floor which I like as while they do offer sea views, as well as the living area, the bedrooms are built into the hill so they are quiet and made for sleeping well. More like being in a sleeping bunker with a sea view and balcony. Bathrooms were big as were the showers. High marks to Aureol on her responsiveness. There is also a very good list of suggestions for restaurants and attractions nearby. House it at the top of the hills so the sea views are 180 degree and impressive. - 7/16/2024
