Read this review from Henry Whale who stayed at Meryl in Simonstown.
“We were met at the property by Aureol, who was really really lovely and welcoming. She scooped up our 11 month old daughter and carried her as she showed us around this incredible property. Our first thoughts were that the photos don’t do it justice! This place is very beautiful, the view hits you as soon as you drive into the garage and from the drivers seat with the door to the living room open you can see a huge seascape stretching off until it hits what must be the garden route far off in the horizon. The living space is huge and the kitchen is perfectly set up for socialising with family over breakfast at the bar or meals at the table, inside OR outside on the balcony. Speaking of balconies there are two each one the full width of the property as well as a little gravelled garden. The bedrooms are lovely and quiet and cool all with sea views and access to the lower balcony. There is a utility room for washing or drying beach things. We can’t sing this houses praises highly enough. We even had fire in the fireplace one windy evening not because it was that old but just because it was such a lovely thing to do. There is a bbq/braii on the upper balcony. It felt very safe and secure tucked up on the hillside above Simon’s Town. All this lovely accommodation with the added treat of the exceptional hospitality of Aureol who helped with any questions we had and was fast to reply. We stayed for a total of 5 nights and would have happily stayed there much longer. We will definitely try to stay again if we are lucky enough to make another trip to South Africa.”
